The driver of a semi-truck traveling south on Blue Knob Road failed to yield as he attempted to turn left onto Ohio 7. According to troopers of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the semi-truck struck a 1989 Pontiac going north on Blue Knob Road. The driver of the Pontiac was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital after suffering back pains. The driver of the semi-truck received a citation for failing to yield.

NJ.com reports an accident involving a tour bus and two semi-trucks just before 12:00pm on Wednesday, August 24 in South Brunswick, New Jersey. A southbound DC Trails tour bus struck two trucks after approaching slowed traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike between exits 8A and 9. Fourteen occupants of the bus were injured, suffering broken bones, cuts and other ailments. Three others were in critical condition. The bus was headed for Washington D.C. with 55 passengers on board. After the accident, the tour bus was left with no windshield, as it rested between a turnpike guardrail and a jackknifed truck. The injured were transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Saint Peter’s University Medical Center and CentraState Hospital for treatment.

The Morning Call reports a tractor-trailer accident that occurred on Wednesday, August 24 around 9:20pm in Schuylkill County, West Penn Township, Pennsylvania. A southbound tractor-trailer traveling on Route 309 lost control, crossed the centerline and struck a northbound pickup truck. The tractor-trailer then jackknifed near Route 895 and Overlook Drive. Another driver traveling north struck the semi truck’s trailer and was taken to a local hospital via helicopter. The 45 year-old male driver of the pickup was declared dead at the scene of the accident.

Clarksville Online reports a deadly tractor trailer accident that occurred on Tuesday, August 23 around 7:01pm in Clarksville, Tennessee. A tractor trailer driver ran a red light at the intersection of Trenton Road and 101st Airborne Division Parkway, striking a 2002 Lexus. The accident moved the Lexus into the path of a Nissan Altima. The 63 year-old male driver of the Lexus was killed at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Altima was taken to Gateway with injuries. The driver of the 1988 GMC tractor trailer was charged with 2 counts of reckless endangerment and vehicular homicide.

The Mansfield News Journal reports a semi-truck accident that occurred on Friday morning, June 3 in Mansfield, Ohio. A semi-truck driver tried to make a left turn back onto US 30, causing a Monte Carlo on Ohio 39 North to become wedged below the semi-truck. The driver of the Monte Carlo was taken to MedCentral/ Mansfield Hospital. The MRC Transportation semi-truck driver received a citation for making an illegal U-turn.

TheRepublic.com reports a semi-truck accident that occurred on Monday, June 6 in Sterward, Illinois. A 35 year-old man occupying the shoulder of Interstate 39 was struck by a semi-truck that entered the shoulder, struck the man’s motor home and dragged him approximately 80 feet in distance. He was under his motor home to assess a mechanical issue when the accident took place. He was killed and his passenger was transported to Rochelle Hospital.

The Miami Herald reports a fatality involving a dump truck and a taxi cab on Monday, June 6 in Orlando, Florida at 1:55am. A dump truck struck a taxi cab on State Road 528 near Orlando International Airport, killing the taxi passenger. The taxi driver was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Florida Highway Patrol stated that charges are pending.

StateGazette.com reports a fatality on Tuesday, May 31 after a tractor-trailer accident that occurred on Saturday, May 28. Shortly before 4am in Dyer County, Tennessee, a tractor-trailer transporting sheets of metal rear-ended a ’97 Chevrolet Blazer on Highway 412 near Slaughter Pen Road. The Blazer struck a tree after going down an embankment. The 67 year-old female driver of the Blazer was airlifted to the Med in Memphis, where she died on Tuesday. A passenger in the Blazer also received injuries as a result of the accident. The 50 year-old male driver of the tractor-trailer was cited for following too closely.

NewsChannel9.com reports that an 18-wheeler hit a minivan full of children around 8:30pm on Tuesday, November 23. No one was killed, but all the little passengers were taken to a hospital. This truck wreck happened at exit 349 (the Ringgold exit) on Interstate 75 North in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  No other details were available, but foggy conditions may have been partly to blame.

MidHudsonNews.com reports that a big rig carrying corn oil T-boned a minivan at 9pm on Tuesday, November 23. Reports say the minivan had just exited the Taconic Parkway when the 18-wheeler hit it on Route 23 in Craryville, New York. The smaller vehicle’s driver sustained serious head injuries in the truck wreck and was hospitalized.

NJ.com reports that a box truck made an improper turn and critically injured a woman on Thanksgiving night (Thursday, November 25). The truck accident happened in front of the Lukoil gas station on Route 40 in Carneys Point Township, New Jersey. The truck had been stopped in the right-hand lane of the highway before it turned and hit the car.  The injured woman was flown to a hospital in Camden, New Jersey. Her three children and the car’s driver were not seriously injured in the truck accident; they were evaluated at a local hospital.

Post-Gazette.com reports that a flatbed truck struck and killed a woman in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Friday, November 26. The car was heading north on Route 51 toward the West End Bridge around 11am when its driver made an improper left turn. The southbound big rig driver told police he was unable to avoid hitting her car. 

GantDaily.com reports that a tractor-trailer hit and killed a retired state trooper near midnight on Friday, November 5, in Union Township, Pennsylvania.  The unfortunate 54-year-old retiree had pulled his pickup truck off the road (I-80 westbound at mile marker 104.8), and stepped out of the truck. For unknown reasons, the big rig driver crossed onto the shoulder and hit the parked truck and its owner, who was declared dead at the scene of the truck wreck.

MontereyHerald.com reports that two people in separate cars died in a truck wreck on Friday, November 5, after a big rig driver rear-ended a car that had stopped to turn into a driveway. After the semi hit the first car and sent it spinning, the truck hit a second car and pushed it off the road. The double-fatality truck accident happened at 2:30pm on Highway 156 west of Meridian Road in Prunedale, California. The victims, a 4-year-old boy and the 48-year-old driver of the first car, were taken to a Salinas hospital, where they died.  Highway 156 has been the scene of several fatality accidents over the past few years.

WNDU.com reports that an eastbound semi truck blew a tire, crashed through a guardrail, crossed the westbound lanes, and landed in the ditch on the far side of the Toll Road near mile marker 57 in LaPorte County, Indiana. When a westbound car braked to avoid the out-of-control big rig, it was hit by two other cars. The four-vehicle truck accident happened just after 3pm on Sunday, November 7. One person was taken to a hospital with cut and bruises.

NewsOn6.com reports that when a big rig hit a disabled car on the Will Rogers Turnpike Sunday night, it killed the car’s teenage driver. She’d been trying to get out of the car after having hit the concrete divider. The fatal truck accident happened Sunday, November 7, in the westbound lanes, four miles west of the Miami exit, in Ottawa County, Oklahoma. A passenger in the car was unhurt, as were the truck driver and his passenger. The 19-year-old, a resident of Disney, Oklahoma, died at the scene.

JacksonSun.com reports two people died and two were injured when a van and a dump truck crashed Monday, November 8, in Winchester, Tennessee. The truck wreck happened in the afternoon at the intersection of State Highways 16 and 64.

DailyPress.com reports that a dump truck fully loaded with gravel lost a wheel and hit another vehicle in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on Monday, November 8. One person sustained non-critical injuries and was hospitalized in the truck accident, which happened on I-264 westbound I-264 near Independence Boulevard. A police vehicle was also hit in the accident, but the officers were uninjured.

MyFoxHouston.com reports that a dump truck hit and killed a person (who might have been on a bicycle) the morning of Monday, November 8, in west Houston. The fatal truck accident happened at the intersection of Briar Forest Drive and Wilcrest Drive.

BucyrusTelegraphForum.com reports that a motorcyclist died Friday morning, October 8, after a head-on collision with a semi truck that turned left into his path. The fatal truck accident happened on County Highway 330 near U.S. 23 in Wyandot County, Ohio. Wyandot County Sheriff Mike Hetzel said the semi driver “failed to yield the right-of-way and that helped cause [the rider's] death, essentially.” The rider was flown first to one hospital and then to another one, where he died.

PittsburghLive.com reports two people died after a big rig rear-ended a passenger car Monday morning, October 11. The truck wreck happened on Route 119 North, near the Route 819 overpass in East Huntingdon Township. A witness reported that the car was traveling slowly in the passing lane when the truck hit it from behind.  She said it looked like the truck driver tried unsuccessfully to swerve to avoid the accident.

DesMoinesRegister.com reports that early on Sunday, October 10, a car and a big rig truck “bumped” while heading south on Southeast 14th Street in Des Moines, Iowa.  The impact sent the car sliding into northbound lanes, where a pickup truck hit the driver’s side door. The car driver died at the scene, and the pickup driver went to the hospital with minor injuries. The big rig driver was uninjured in the truck wreck.

LeHighValleyLive.com reports that two people were injured on Saturday night, October 9, when a motorcycle and a box truck crashed in the 3000 block of Belvidere Road (Route 519) in Harmony Township, New Jersey. Police said the motorcycle hit the truck as it was making a left turn into a driveway, and then the bike and its two riders slid under the truck. The injured riders were breathing but unconscious at the scene of the truck accident; a day later, the driver was in fair condition but his juvenile passenger was in critical condition in the hospital.

LakeExpo.com reports that a semi truck caused a five-vehicle chain reaction accident Friday, October 8, when it rear-ended a schoolbus in Camdenton, Missouri.  The bus was heading south on Highway 5 just before Highway 7, loaded with 36 students. As it neared three vehicles waiting to make a left turn, the schoolbus slowed down, which is when the big rig rear-ended it. The truck’s impact forced the bus into a Pontiac, which hit a Mazda, which hit a Mitsubishi. The Pontiac driver was flown to a hospital for moderate injuries, and 15 students from the schoolbus were taken to a hospital for minor injuries after the truck wreck.

WDEF.com reports that a truck hit a charter bus early Friday morning, October 8,  causing a dozen people to go to the hospital with minor injuries.  The accident happened as the truck changed lanes on I-75 South near the Ooltewah, Tennessee, exit.  Witnesses say the bus was in the far right lane when the truck moved from the middle to the right lane.

DailyTribune.net reports that a semitrailer rear-ended a passenger vehicle at the 2600 Block of South Jefferson near Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, injuring one man in that vehicle. The passenger vehicle had slowed to a stop behind a flatbed trailer at the time of the accident.

CBS11tv.com reports that an 18-wheeler crashed into a dump truck on Highway 121 near Lewisville, Texas, after which the cab of the big rig crashed into a pickup truck and all three vehicles burst into flames. The driver of the big rig belonging to Leap of Faith Transportation jumped to safety from the burning truck before it fell over a bridge. One person was taken to a medical facility for treatment following the truck accident.

Newsday.com reports that witnesses saw a big rig run a red light at the intersection of Hicksville Road and Central Avenue in Bethpage, New York, and crash into a passenger vehicle and killing a mother and daughter in that vehicle. Police investigating the truck wreck are deciding whether or not to cite the driver. The victim’s were a 44-year-old mom and her 11-year-old daughter.

Rocnow.com reports that a dump truck struck the County Route 7 overpass on the New York State Thruway in Manchester, Ontario County, New York, causing the bed of the truck to detach and two vehicles to collide with the bed. Seventeen people were injured in the crash that was caused by the dump truck’s failure to have a tilt bed warning light that would have signaled the driver when the truck bed was raised. The driver was cited for not having proper equipment.

JSOnline.com reports that a container being hauled by a tractor-trailer became disconnected and fell onto a parked SUV, killing the occupant of that vehicle. The truck accident occurred on I-39 near Stoughton, Wisconsin, according to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol. A passenger in the SUV was also injured and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Wisconsin State Police are continuing their investigation of this accident.

Deseretnews.com reports that a semi-trailer truck rear-ended a school bus at the intersection of 2800 West and State Route 13 in Corinne, Box Elder County, Utah after the bus had stopped at a stop sign. Three children aboard the bus were injured in the truck crash and the driver of the big rig was cited for following too closely.

DenverPost.com reports that a semi-trailer truck passing a car in a no-passing zone on U.S. 287 near Lamar, Colorado struck an on-coming passenger vehicle head-on, killing a passenger in that vehicle and sending its driver and a second passenger to the hospital in serious condition. The driver of the big rig was arrested for investigation of one count of careless driving causing death, three counts of careless driving causing injury, careless driving, and passing on the left where prohibited.

Mlive.com reports that the driver of a tractor-semitrailer lost control of his vehicle while traveling on U.S. 131 near Zerbe Road in Constantine Township, Michigan, crossed the middle line, drove into opposing traffic and struck an oncoming pickup truck. Police reports indicate that the driver of the pickup was taken to Three Rivers Hospital where he was treated for his injuries from the truck crash.

WBIR.com reports that an 80-year-old Knoxville, Tennessee man died in an accident on Western Avenue in Knoxville when his vehicle slid under the bed of a tractor trailer carrying a full load of pipes. The jaws of life were used to extract the victim from the wreckage. The Knoxville Police Department is investigating the crash.

Highlands Today reports that a 74-year-old Avon Park, Florida man died when a semitrailer turned into his path on County Road 640, causing the man’s VW Bug to run under the truck’s trailer. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating whether alcohol was a factor in the truck crash.

OregonLive.com reports that the driver of a semi-trailer was cited for careless driving after he was traveling too fast to negotiate a turn on U.S. 101 near Gold Beach, Oregon, causing his rig to tip over and crash into a passenger car. Oregon State Police report that the driver was hauling a container full of garbage at the time of the crash. The injured motorist was treated at a local hospital for what appear to have been minor injuries.

BurlingtonFreePress.com reports that two people lost their lives in an accident on I-89 near Montpelier, Vermont when the driver of a milk tanker lost control of his vehicle, which then jackknifed and was struck by a passenger car and a second milk tanker. The victims were the driver of the second milk tanker and a passenger in the car. According to Vermont State Police, the truck driver who initiated the accident escaped with minor injuries.

Newstimes.com of Middlebury, Connecticut reports that the driver of a loaded propane tanker was cited for traveling too fast for conditions and driving with defective equipment after he crashed into a small truck on I-84 near Middlebury. Police report that the propane tanker, which was carrying 1,500 gallons of propane, had a damaged right rear wheel. One victim was treated for back injuries following the accident.

WSMV.com reports that a multi-vehicle crash has left a semi-trailer driver dead and at least two other people injured following a wreck on I-65 near Millersville, Tennessee. According to The Tennessee Highway Patrol, the crash was initiated when high winds caused the driver of the semi-tractor trailer to lose control and crash into opposing traffic. The resulting crash involved two other semis, a car and a pickup truck.

LongIslandPress.com reports that the driver of a tanker truck was killed when he attempted to pass a passenger vehicle on the Long Island Expressway and veered into the car instead, causing the tanker truck to flip and explode into flames and leaving the driver of the passenger car with non life-threatening injuries. Firefighters and emergency crews battled a raging inferno for hours after the crash.

NBCChicago.com reports that a big rig rear-ended a completely full 18-passenger van on I-65 30 miles south of Indianapolis on Sunday, killing two passengers in the van and injuring the other 16. The injured passengers in the van were taken to a local hospital with what a Sheriff’s Department spokesperson described as injuries ranging from minor to critical. The van’s passengers were members of an extended family including children, returning from a kite flying convention in Georgia.

MyPlainview.com of Plainview, Texas reports that a man was hospitalized after an accident on I-27 in Plainview when a semi truck failed to yield and struck his vehicle, causing it to flip onto its roof. Paramedics transported the victim to nearby Covenant Hospital. No details are yet available about his injuries.

DailyWorld reports that a 29-year-old Lafayette, Louisiana man was struck and killed by an 18-wheeler as he walked home on I-49 near Carencro. Louisiana State Police report that toxicology samples were taken from the driver of the 18-wheeler, but results are not yet available.

Progress-index.com reports that two people were injured, one fatally, when the Penske rental truck they were traveling in collided with a tractor-trailer on I-95 in Prince George County, Virginia. Virginia State Police were unable to provide details of the cause of the crash, but indicated that charges were pending.

KETV.com of Omaha, Nebraska reports that a man was injured when his car and a semitrailer truck collided on I-80 near Omaha, leaving his vehicle wedged under the big rig. Nebraska State Police are continuing their investigation of the crash.

Thedailyreview.com reports that a Gillett, Pennsylvania woman was hospitalized with severe head injuries after her pickup truck was struck by a tractor trailer on Mott Town Road and Route 14 in South Creek Township, Pennsylvania. Details of the cause of the crash are unavailable at this time. The victim is in critical condition at Robert Packer Hospital.

BenningtonBanner.com reports that a 36-year-old Greenwich, New York man was injured in Shaftsbury, Vermont when a Freight Line tractor-trailer lost its load, which then struck the victim’s vehicle on Vermont Route 67 near the New York border. The Shaftsbury Fire Department and Bennington Rescue assisted at the scene where the victim’s vehicle sustained heavy damage when the load, including a large tire and extra bucket for a front-end loader, slid off the big rig while it was cornering.

WSMV.com of Nashville, Tennessee reports that a 59-year-old woman was killed Friday morning when the driver of a tow truck lost control on Old Hickory Boulevard and his truck entered traffic striking the woman’s vehicle. Tennessee State Police stated that speed appears to have been a factor in the fatal crash.

The Daily Herald reports that four people were injured Wednesday when a semitrailer truck struck another truck from behind and pushed it into three cars. The driver of the semitrailer truck was in critical condition following the crash, which happened at the intersection of Route 83 and Third Avenue near Bensenville, Illinois and is being investigated by The DuPage County sheriff’s office.

Minnesota’s Pine Journal reports that a Cloquet, Minnesota man was seriously injured on Tuesday when the pickup truck he was driving was rear-ended by a Freightliner semi trailer, pushing it into traffic on Highway 21 at the Carlton County Transfer Station ¾ of a mile west of Interstate 35. According to Minnesota State Patrolmen, the road was dry at the time of the crash.

Argus Oberserver reports that a man who was putting chains on his parked truck on the off ramp of I-84 near Ontario, Oregon was killed Tuesday when he was struck by a semi-truck that was attempting to pass by onto the off ramp. Oregon State Police state that the semi-truck slid into the parked truck striking two men, killing one and injuring the other.

According to Star Tribune.com a 21-year-old Fargo, ND woman was killed in a crash near Moorhead, Minnesota on Tuesday when the car she was driving was struck by a fuel tanker truck. The Minnesota State Patrol states that the crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 75 and a county road.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol states that a Freightliner semi-truck failed to yield and crashed into the driver’s side of a car on North Dakota Highway 18 on Thursday leaving three people seriously injured, according to GrandForksHerald.com. The crash occurred just north of Larimore, North Dakota.

The Herald-Citizen reports that a teenage Monterey, Tennessee girl died last Sunday when a tractor trailer truck forced the Ford SUV she was traveling in to swerve into guardrails. The accident on Interstate 40 in Monterey left two other people injured. The tractor-trailer that caused the accident left the scene and has not been identified or located.

A report on Crossville-Chronicle.com states that an 84-year-old Crossville, Tennessee woman is in critical condition after her vehicle was struck by a cargo container truck on Highway 70 in Crossville. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports that the woman’s vehicle was struck so hard that it was knocked 50 feet off the road, down a 10-foot embankment and through a fence.

KDVR.com is reporting that a semitrailer struck the back of a passenger vehicle attempting to pass it on Interstate 76 near Keenesburg, Colorado on Tuesday causing the passenger vehicle to leave the roadway and flip, killing the vehicle’s driver. The driver of the semitrailer truck has been cited with careless driving.

Three people died in Thanksgiving holiday wrecks according to WAFF.com. Among the fatalities was a man who died in Mobile County, Alabama the day after Thanksgiving when an 18-wheel truck struck his pickup truck. Alabama State Troopers identified the victim in that crash as a 27-year-old Mobile Country man.

CharlotteObserver.com reports that one person was killed and 5 were injured when a sanitation truck lost control and overturned onto their vehicle on Billy Graham Parkway in Charlotte, North Carolina. City of Charlotte officials stated that the driver of the truck, though a temp filling in for the regular driver, was licensed and qualified to drive the truck.
