FMCSA Publishes New Hours of Service Visor Card

This visor card summarizes the hours of service rules and compares the current rule with the changes that will go into effect July 1, 2013. One of the biggest changes is that drivers must take a 30 minute off duty or sleeper berth break after 8 hours.

Also, drivers can only use one 34 hour restart provision per week to reset a driver’s 60 or 70 hour maximum driving time. The 34 hour rest time must now include at least two periods between 1am to 5am.
