Semi Truck Collides with Light-Rail Train in San Jose

Two passengers were injured when a tractor trailer collided with a light-rail train in San Jose on Friday, Feb. 17, according to SVTransitUsers.org. According to a witness, the semi crossed the tracks at North First/Taylor and into the path of the oncoming VTA light-rail train. No details were available as to the extent of the passenger injuries.

TRUCK ACCIDENT FAST FACT: According to TruckInjuries.com, about 27 percent of drivers of large trucks involved in a truck accident had at least one prior speeding conviction. By contrast, 19 percent of drivers of passenger cars involved in a fatal crash committed previous speeding infractions.
