Republican Governor Sam Brownback has named Barb Rankin as Kansas’ acting secretary of the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT). Rankin’s move is a promotion from her position as general counsel for the agency. She will replace Deb Miller, a holdover Democratic appointment who was the first woman to lead the KDOT.
