Truck Accident Weekly Roundup: November 2 – November 9

The Rockwall News of Rockwall, Texas reports that Thursday, November 5, a 20-year-old local man died from a traffic incident on I-30 involving a tractor-trailer truck. Police investigators from Garland, Texas are continuing to investigate the truck accident.

A 15-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries as the result of an accident on Florida Interstate 75 in which the van she was traveling in was rear-ended by a Freightliner semi tractor-trailer. According to The Gainesville Sun/Gainesville.com the tractor-trailer jackknifed and rolled before hitting a concrete embankment.

Syracuse.com reports that a Syracuse University football player has been hospitalized following a truck accident on the New York State Thruway on Sunday. The report quotes New York State Police Captain James Land as saying that the crash was entirely the fault of the tractor-trailer driver and that the big rig struck the player’s vehicle from behind. The extent of the player’s injuries was not reported.

The Sioux City Journal.com reports that a 27-year-old LeMars, Iowa man was killed Wednesday when his vehicle was struck by a semi-trailer truck on Highway 75 in Hinton, Iowa. The Volvo semi was apparently pulling a load of hogs when it struck the victim’s Toyota Camry.

StarTribune.com reports that a 39-year-old man was killed on Minnesota County Road 2 when, according to Sheriff’s department investigators, a semi-tractor ran a stop sign and struck his vehicle. The crash is still under investigation and it is not known whether drugs or alcohol may have played a role in the crash.

A truck accident near Green Bay, Wisconsin claimed the life of a 78-year-old man on Monday. Postcrescent.com reports that the man’s vehicle was struck from behind by a semi-trailer truck on U.S. 41 north of Glory Road. Sheriff’s investigators are still determining the cause of the crash.< ><–>
